The Esprit is a sports car marketed by Lotus in the 1970s-1990s. For the nineties, a V8 engine was made available for the first time.

The Esprit was used in the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only, in which it could turn into a submarine.
Revival[]
Plans for a new Esprit were announced in 2010. In 2014, those plans were canceled.
Motorsport[]
The Espirt was used in the IMSA GT Championship. It was also used in the SCCA Escort Endurance Championship, which became the World Challenge.
